We have tried our best to collect the often asked questions. As always, contact us if your question is not answered below.

Rummies & Yummies Policies

All food sales are final.
All deposits and payments are non-refundable and if cancelled, store credit can be issued by Rummies & Yummies Management.
Final payment for large event orders must be paid 2 weeks in advance. Any cancellations must be made 2 weeks in advance.
Alterations to orders will be at the discretion of Rummies & Yummies Management.
We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone, and/or bake a particular product for anyone. We are trying to be a little sensible in what we bake and serve…gotta act like an adult some of the time. So, for example, a Bacardi 151 rum cake for a child’s birthday…that’s a wee bit much rum for a young’un.
We believe in freedom of speech, the American way, independence and women’s rights, the right to love whoever you want and in having a shot of rum cake at work.

Where are we?

Everywhere! Anywhere you want us to be!
Seriously, our “Lab” – where we concoct all of our heavenly, delicious, and any other amazing adjectives you can use, is located at 1580 Wells Rd. Unit 7 & 8, Orange Park, FL. 32073.

We tend to show up at local events, farmers markets and Fall Festivals. Our FaceBook page has an event section – check us out! AND LIKE US!!

Cargo Storage Bay Instructions

To be sure that our cakes arrive in the freshest quality, we bake to order and ship them so they arrive at your door as soon as possible.

Microwave

For a warm, taste-like-its-outta-the-oven treat, nuke our goodies for a few seconds. Try 10 seconds and see if you like that…

Refrigerating

For immediate consumption, keep them at room temperature or refrigerated - they’ll stay fresh for about 5-6 days. Remove them from the refrigerator about 30 minutes before serving.

Freezing

So, you can’t quite eat the entire cake. Wrap the cake in saran wrap and freeze for up to 2 months. We recommend thawing for a couple of hours before serving. Warning: If you are a licker, we are not responsible for tongues stuck to a frozen cake.

Customize Your Cake

Can I get a custom cake or dessert?

YES! We are all about baking what YOU want.
You can add all kinds of options to customize your rum, pound cake or specialty cake, however, it would be easier to contact us directly to order ('cause online ordering options are limited).

How can I order a cake from Rummies & Yummies?

You can order Rum and Pound Cakes through our online store. OR…

How much Rum is really in a rum cake?

There is rum in the cake and rum in the glaze. However, the rum content is baked / cooked out, leaving the delicious rum flavor. We do add rum to the top of the cake. So, yes, you can smell the rum and even taste the rum.
Disclaimer: If you order a Bacardi 151 or similar type of rum cake, then there will be a higher percentage of rum – and the rum content and smell will be much stronger.

Can kids have rum cake?

We leave it up to you as to whether or not kids can consume the rum cakes. While there is not a lot of rum in the cake, it is an alcohol and there is rum in/on the cake. We make no recommendations as to rum cakes for anyone under the age of 21.

Do you have to be 21 or older to purchase a rum cake?

No…but, we do reserve the right to refuse service to anyone, and/or bake a particular product for anyone.

Cupcakes

Does Rummies & Yummies sell mini-cupcakes?

Yes, we can do mini-cupcakes. Mini-cupcakes are available in quantities of 20, so you can mix flavors on every 20 count.
The price for 20 mini-cupcakes = $30; 40 mini-cupcakes = $60. Add rum = cost will be a little higher.

How do I store my cupcakes?

Assuming you have any cupcakes left, we recommend that you store your cupcakes at room temperature or in the closest fridge.

Does Rummies & Yummies offer individual boxing for cupcakes?

We do offer favor boxes for $0.50 per favor box. We offer favor boxes that hold one individual standard-size cupcake as well as favor boxes that hold 4 mini cupcakes.

Allergens

What if I have food allergies?

We believe in health safety first. We use a lot of wheat flour, milk, butter, chocolate, peanut butter, peanuts, tree nuts and coconut in our products. Anyone who has an allergy to these items should NOT sample our treats without talking to us first.
Simply put, we do clean and sanitize. We strive to adhere to the strictest cleanliness guidelines…so, even if a product does not contain nuts, there is always the possibility of cross-contamination.
We customize desserts and we use all kinds of ingredients. If you have an allergy, please refrain from enjoying our goodies unless you have spoken to us to confirm your allergen is NOT in the product - or to see if we can bake it without the allergen.

When in doubt, check it out…

Our menu is listed online for you to peruse. Please keep in mind that Rummies & Yummies is a smaller bakery and we have all kinds of allergens (dairy, nuts, peanuts, wheat, etc.) in our baked goods and our facility.
We are not a nut-free environment.

Got a nut-allergy?

Several of our products contain peanuts or other nut products. We believe in health safety first. When in doubt, please refrain from enjoying our goodies.

Do you have gluten free items?

We make everything from scratch, so we can customize and avoid using gluten. We are willing to play and create new dessert items. However, if you have a severe allergy to gluten, please know that we do not want to risk your health and kindly ask that you refrain from enjoying our goodies.

Freshness

All our products are made from scratch to provide the freshest dessert. So, no preservatives or added crazy chemicals to keep our goodies fresh throughout the next Apocalypse = so EAT IT NOW!

Events

Do I need to book a consultation?

If you see the cake you want in our Loot Gallery, just call or email to place your order.
If you want to set-up a time to come to our Lab to discuss flavors, set-up, decorations and other special event topics, please contact us. We are available by appointment only.
We kindly request consultations and orders are made at least 2 weeks in advance of the event. BUT, contact us. We have all kinds of treats available.

Does Rummies & Yummies cater for weddings, baby showers and other events?

Does Rummies & Yummies offer on-site set up?

Yes, we will set-up our cakes, cupcakes and treats at an event. Typically, our set-up fee is $50, but this price may change, depending upon the complexity.

Does Rummies & Yummies provide cupcake stands, cake stands or set-up decorations?

Rummies & Yummies can provide stands and decorations, at cost. Contact us to discuss your wishes.

Deposits

There is a 50% deposit for all events and wedding orders, due at time of order / signed agreement, with full payment due 2 weeks prior to the event.

Which cakes can be shipped?

Due to the delicate nature of our treats, we can only ship Rum Cakes, Rum Balls and Pound Cakes at this time. Some cakes will be shipped with the toppings in a small container.

Can you ship your specialty cakes or cupcakes?

Unfortunately, we cannot ship our specialty cakes or cupcakes at this time. BUT…we do deliver within the North Florida region.

Shipping Costs

Shipping costs are $20 per cake.
If you are ordering multiple cakes, email or call so we can discuss shipping options.

Can you ship multiple cakes in one box?

We may be able to ship 2 loaf size cakes in one box, because they like to snuggle. Bundt cakes demand their own box.

We ship using the following methods:

USPS Priority Mail (2-3 days delivery time).
USPS Express (1 day delivery time) – contact us for pricing and payment.
NOTE: Shipping times have been delayed due to COVID-19. Please contact us if you want to ship a cake. We really want to exceed expectations. Which means having your cake (and eat it too!) fast!

Where do you ship to?

We only ship within the United States.
Rummies & Yummies cannot ship to APO or FPO addresses.

Shipping cut-off time is…

Daily cutoff time for next day shipments is 6pm EST. We may be able to ship same day - only if you call and place your order by 12pm EST. Yes, even for customers who live in California. We know Californians are extra special. :)
We ship on Monday – Friday, excluding holidays.

Lead time

Orders are filled and shipped within 1 day. If you absolutely, positively NEED something to arrive by a certain time, we suggest ordering early and emailing us.

Tracking Info

If requested, an email confirmation will be sent to you with the USPS tracking information.

Extra Shipping Details

Rummies & Yummies cannot guarantee delivery if provided an incorrect address, shipping delays resulting from inclement weather, natural disasters, or acts of God. FYI – we consider inclement weather an act of God – we didn’t do it. Corrections to any shipping address after order is submitted will result in delays. We will not reimburse for delays. Like, you knew that, right?

Due to the perishable nature of our products, we recommend someone be present at date of delivery to receive the package. Please verify specific delivery policies at your shipping destination. If shipping to college campuses, please include student's name, address and box number. We are not responsible for people sniffing, licking or otherwise getting close to your package. Or your package from Rummies & Yummies. (Yes, we were in college once.)
Rummies & Yummies takes full responsibility for dispersing your ordered treats as scheduled, but is not responsible for packages once they have left our facility. We cannot control shipping delays, packages left at doors or any other random acts.
Rummies & Yummies reserves the right to alter shipping policies.

** Important Note: PLEASE inform the recipient (if it’s not you) that they will be receiving an amazing, perishable cake from Rummies & Yummies.

Get Your Loot Delivered!

Delivery Info

We deliver within the North Florida region.
Delivery fee varies. We are in the process of partnering with delivery companies, so prices WILL change.
We deliver seven days a week.
Delivery fees start at $20, and the minimum order for delivery is $15. We have tried to keep delivery costs reasonable. Look for your delivery address / area to determine delivery cost:
- Westside / Riverside / Orange Park / Airport = $20
- Downtown / Mandarin / JTB - Southside / Arlington = $25
- Beaches / World Golf Village = $30
- St. Augustine / North of Jax Airport - Fernandina = $35
We reserve the right to charge additional delivery fees, especially for deliveries outside of the above areas.
We request that all delivery orders be placed by 12pm the day prior to delivery.
For large orders, additional advance notice is appreciated.

What is the earliest time I can have my cupcakes delivered?

Contact us to determine delivery date and time. We prefer to NOT deliver 9p – 9a…not saying that we won’t…but…our beds are way too comfy for that!

Do I need to pre-pay?

For pick-up and delivery orders, we kindly request payment in advance. Our delivery drivers do not carry cash on delivery. We do accept credit cards. And large sums of gold booty.

Pick-Up Your Cake Already!

Orders placed before 3pm can be picked up the next day. If you need your cake or treat picked-up / delivered, email or call us to make arrangements.

Can I place a large order for pick-up?

Of course! Please give us a call to confirm details (flavors, decorations, etc.). On large orders, we ask for a week’s notice (but can accommodate most orders with at least a one day notice).
